Estonian Urban Lab has brought together local experts and urban enthusiasts to show you the very urban face of one of the smallest capitals in Europe.
Tallinn is often described as a city full of contrasts, with a dense medieval core surrounded by vast sparse bedroom suburbs and modernist high rises, stood next to century old wooden churches. The Urban Lab looks at Tallinn as a laboratory for different ways of life, where interests and lifestyles bounce off each other and exciting reactions happen. Urban walks will introduce you to the city through the key concepts of contemporary urbanism such as the rise of local communities, urban regeneration and urban gardening, the post-socialist city, urban sprawl etc.
Tours:
Opening Tallinn Seaside: The Future of Urban Planning
Living in a City: Layers of Tallinn Housing Districts
Grass-roots Tallinn: From the Creative Industry to Local Communities
